Home Alone!
This weekend, Matt and I are home alone! My dad is in town and offered to take the kids to our condo in St. George from Thursday night to Sunday morning. I said no at first because we have a lot going on this weekend plus we just never leave them, and last minute I changed my mind. Can I say how wierd it is just being by myself today? I've discovered that I've been using my kids as excuses for all sorts of things; not going to the gym, not cleaning my house, etc. Yeah, even with no kids it was hard to motivate myself to get things done. I did clean out the sloth pit that is our car, and it's looking good! I seriously can't wait to spend some time today, and a whole lot of time tomorrow cleaning. I really do love to clean, and it seems like it's a neverending project when things are being taken out as quick as you can clean them up. It'll be nice to just listen to some music and do some deep cleaning! Plus, Matt and I are going to see a movie tonight with some friends. A real life date! It's been 2 years, so he'll definitely be springing for some theater popcorn! Well, I think that other than calling every 2 hours to check on my babes, I've done reasonably well! Wish me luck getting my humongous to-do list done!

Isn't it weird how big and quiet your house feels when your kiddos are gone? I think I've only been home alone in this house like 5 times. Crazy! I hope you get your to do list done. Good luck!
I almost feel "naked" when my kids aren't around. I don't know what to do with myself. It's always nice though to have some time alone (even if it is some what ackward)!!
Oh dang, how fun!!!!!! It's such a catch though...you miss the kids like crazy, but it's SO NICE to have quiet alone time. Live it up! Have a great weekend!!!!!!
Enjoy your alone time! I love to clean my house when my kids and my husband are gone because then it stays clean. Have fun at your movie. You should go and see two just cuz you can.

I am jealous. I would like a home-alone weekend or a get-a-way, but it is always a hassel to find somewhere for the kids to go. Lucky for you!

That is so nice for you guys, and with all your lists you have you will be so busy and won't think about how much you miss them. Definately get the BIGGEST POPCORN and eat it all, if your kids are like mine, they get it all and you get the crumbs :( So enjoy your moment with your hubby and your cleaning time.
Wow, sign me up! That sounds wonderful. We love having time away from the kids but we always realize we would never want that time to last forever. It makes you appreciate them more and you feel rejuvenated from your small break! It probably feels weird though because you are still at home. This will be great time spent with their grandpa.

Right after Faith was born, John took her and Levi out of the house for like 3 hours (just long enough until I needed to feed her again). It was seriously so weird. And I think that was the last time I've been alone in my house without kids.

Oh, and I'm so glad that you like theater popcorn too. I think Tinseltown has THE BEST. I can eat an entire bucket.

Being one of the very last single people that you know, I have to tell you, not having kids dosent clean my house or car either! But because you do have kids, I would use that excuse 100%. I just sounds so legit you know! I mean I believe completly. I think to myself every time I feel bad that I probably wont procreate "You cant even keep the fish bowl clean, how ever would you keep a kid clean!" I hope you got to spend some time with your Dad this weekend too!
Don't work too hard on you much needed time off! You deserve a little R & R....you are such a great mom!!!!
I would kill for that!! I used to have a hard time leaving the kids now I wonder why and I never get the chance anymore!! I hope you guys had a blast and enjoyed the peace and quiet!!!
