The parade! I'll start off by saying that the 4th of July is by far my favorite holiday! No presents to buy, lots of family get togethers, BBQ's, parades, and fireworks! This year did not disappoint! We started the day off with the Kaysville parade. Way fun, but SO hot! We sat with York, Jenny, and her family. We met at my mom's following the parade for a BBQ and to let the "kids" play with the water toys. Then out comes York, and Matt soon after, to show the kids a little about the slip-n-slide! So funny to watch grown men try to out do eachother on the slip-n-slide! I thought I'd die laughing! The girls loved playing in the kiddie pool, and Beck was content playing with a soccer ball on the trampoline. Every 4th, we meet the same group of people in the same spot to watch the fireworks. My grandpa makes homemade rootbeer (the best!) and we make rootbeer floats. I LOVE the fireworks! It's a time where I run into old friends, hang out with family, and enjoy the whole atmosphere of the 4th of July. The only downside this year was having an almost 4 year old who wanted everything that people were walking around selling. She already had a glow necklace on, so she set her sights on these butterfly wands that light up, change colors, and best of all, sing the world's most annoying high pitched "song" in Chinese. We told her no, but peer pressure set in when everyone else was buying them for their girls. We totally caved. We are now the proud owners of a toy that guaranteed won't make it through the week! We all watched the fireworks with Beckett commenting, "fireworks go boom! firworks go pop!" with EVERY single one fired! It couldn't have been a better night!

That is so funny that they actually went down the slip n slide.. I didn't hear that you tried it?? What a good holiday you had.
I agree the 4th is a favorite here too. I love the grown men on the waterslides. Dave did that a couple of weeks ago and ripped the slide. We've never been to the Kaysville parade. Maybe next summer we'll visit during the 4th and attend.
Hey there Jylaire! This is Amber & Kelli's friend- Natalie- who you helped thru my recent surgery! Just wanted to take a sec to tell you thanks for how great you were! Cam (my husband) & I both commented on that right afterwards about how having a great nurse made such a big difference when having a crappy time like surgery!! Thanks again for all you did!! Cute blog & way cute pics of the kids!!
I am sooo with you on the 4th being the favorite holiday. I love the 4th!!!!! Looks like y'all had a lot of fun!
I love the 4th too! And I haven't heard James for so long. I think I even forgot they existed--thanks for the reminder! I think I'll be downloading some of their songs tonight.

I'm glad you favorite holiday was full of fun times. We need to have a fun time soon. I'm not sure that I can make it to the book party, but when Hyd gets back we need to plan something. I might consider driving all the way up there to visit you (only because your birthday is coming up).
