So, on Friday morning, Matt suggested we go to IKEA later that day, beings we'd be in Sandy for a wedding anyways. It was an offer I couldn't refuse. We packed up the kids and headed south. When we got there, the kiddie playground was full, so we decided to go eat. LOVE those Swedish Meatball with mac and cheese! Right after we ate, our pager went off, letting us know that London could go to the playland. About 40 minutes into her hour long stay, Matt and I were looking around downstairs and we heard a piercing scream. I'd know that scream anywhere! Luckily we were close and got to London soon. She was HYSTERICAL! I ran and grabbed her and then looked at her face. Not good. She had a huge goose egg right next to her left eye, and it was getting bigger. My immediate reaction was "who did this to my kid?" It's amazing how defensive you get about your kids. London then told me that she was walking up the stairs to go watch the movie and just fell into a step- face first. I calmed down a bit knowing that no one had hurt her, but was so sad that she was hurting. Someone from IKEA management came to talk to us about the "incident" and give us an ice pack (I think they were just finding out if we were the lawsuit type). It's been 3 days, and she's not complaining much, but she has a heck of a shiner. Poor kid!

Even with a black eye she still is so cute. I love the first picture of her. Taegan got a black eye once from Brayden when he was only 8 months old. We started calling her our balck eyed beauty.
She sure did get a shiner - holy cow! I am glad that she is ok. At least her outfit matches her eye :)
Poor London! That looks like it totally hurt. It is so sad when your children get hurt and there is nothing you can do. I'm just glad it wasn't someone else that hurt her.
That is one big shiner. It almost looked worse today then in these pictures! I'm just glad she wasn't seriously hurt and that you didn't have to yell at some other kids mom!
Poor thing! I know all about getting your claws out when you think someone hurt your kid. It happened yesterday when someone pushed Levi down and split his head open (see my blog).

It doesn’t matter she’s still the most beautiful lil' thing that ever happened! Now she has "tough girl" bragging rights and pictures to prove it! We dont get to see each other near enough, but at least I found your blog so I can keep up on what is going on in your life! I love your guts!
London still is so dang cute even with a black eye. There is nothing worse than your kid getting hurt and not being there to protect them.

Come on, quit beating your daughter. Kidding! I hope her eye gets better soon. I love IKEA. They have wonderful prices. Too bad your visit had to end early. Oh well, now you'll have to go again soon.
