I'm a stickler for bedtime and bedtime rules. It helps to maintain what is left of my sanity. The number one rule is "no leaving your bed." It takes out all the "I need another drink of water," or "I'm hungry" bits. I love that once I tuck my little ones in bed I can go downstairs and unwind from the day. My kids are really great about the bedtime rules. If they need something, they just call out for one of us, and we go in and check on them. I don't mind doing this every once in a while. Beck, however, has a terrible habit of calling out for us A LOT these days! Not with urgent questions or concerns, either. Well, to him it might be important, but to me it is a little, well, annoying-depending on how late it is! The past few nights, he's called me to his room for the following reasons...
"Um, Mommy? Can we go to Grandma Jilly's right now?" Um no.
"Um, Mommy? Can we go to Cherry Hill tomorrow" Um no, it's winter. (This one is asked nearly every night...)
"Um, Mommy? When will we have a post office in our house?" Um, never.
"Um, Mommy? I can't find my Yadybugs! (his ladybug blanket)" Um, check around your feet...
"Um Mommy? Can I watch Little Einsteins after my nap tomorrow?" How about we talk about that tomorrow and not at 2:30 in the morning...

got to love kids!
Thanks so much for your advice on Madelyn. THe nose in the corner is totally working! She asked me just yesterday if she could go back to doing time outs in her room! Thank you!
That is so funny! Beck is such a cutie!
That is to cute! You will miss it in a few years I'm sure!
What a little stinker... It's hard to get mad at him he is so cute. Hopefully this little thing he is doing will pass soon.
Love the one about the post office in your house! :)
I love it!! Those questions are the cutest ever!!
Oh my, 2:30? Really? K my suggestion is that you pull a Jillian Michaels and say "No getting out of bed unless you are going to puke, faint or DIE". Just kidding, but if I were a parent I would totally use that! Have a good day. Love you.
Don't you just love the random things that go through little kids minds?
