It's a great week to have health insurance!

Our week started off with a bang! Literally... Monday morning around 2:30 am, Beckett woke us up screaming that his shoulder hurt. He was crying, but half asleep, so finding out what was wrong was next to impossible. We sat with him for around an hour, figuring that he slept wrong on his shoulder or arm. We tried asking him if he fell out of bed or was jumping on his bed. He said no to everything. That morning, he complained a little of his shoulder hurting again. Two seconds later, he was up running around playing with London, so again, I didn't think much of it. Matt noticed a bit later that he wasn't using his left arm, so we decided to take him to the pediatrician and get it checked out. Lo and behold, his clavicle was fractured! He told the doctor that he had been doing a magic trick and flipped out of bed. This was news to us! He changed his story about a million times after that, so we honestly have no idea how he actually broke it!He put him in a sling for a month and told him no running, jumping, bike riding, etc. Did we mention that he's 3?!? He's been a good sport about it, but slowing him down is not easy!
Fast forward to Friday night... we're at a BBQ with the dr. and office staff I work with. Beck is walking up some stone stairs in the backyard. He falls and is unable to catch himself, because of his arm being in a sling, and lands right on his face. We rush over to get him, and he was completely covered in blood. Scary! We took him inside, and Dr. Yates, a plastic surgeon, looked at it. He said that Beck had knicked an artery and that he definitely needed stitches. It look a good 20 minutes to get the bleeding under control. Poor kid! We finally got him settled down and the bleeding stopped so we could head to the doctor. Luckily, the closest clinic had after care hours so we didn't have to take him to the ER. Beck was a champ! We didn't even have to hold him down during the numbing injection. Imaging seeing a needle coming right between your eyes and holding still. We were so proud! He had the doctors and nurses laughing the entire time. He loves the fact that he has "string" between his eyes! He kept asking the doctor for a mirror to look at the stitches. He's pretty swollen this morning, but still the cutest little guy ever!

Cousins!

London is so lucky to have so many fun cousins! I LOVE this pic of Londy Lou Who and Cammers! They're so dang cute!

Bangs!

I broke down this week and cut Pippi some bangs. I've fought the urge to do it until now because I just figured it was one more thing I had to do with her hair! Well, it was sort of a necessity when she kept waking up from naps (having a runny nose the past week or so from teething) with her "bangs" literally sticking to her snotty nose. Nice visual, right? I think they turned out pretty dang cute! We just can't get enough of this little one!!!
This one made the post because her little bum is just that cute!

Say cheese!!!

Mattapalooza 2010!

For Matt's 33rd birthday this year, I wanted to pay homage to the music festivals of our teens and twenties. Hence the name Mattapalooza. This was no ordinary birthday celebration, this was a 3 day celebratory festival! It began on Thursday when Matt met up with his dad, uncle, and our bro in law, Wade for golf in SLC. We met them later to eat at the Sizz and celebrate both Matt and Roger's birthdays.
Friday, we had a bunch of friends and family come over to hang out, eat one of the MILLIONS of goodies I'd baked, and laugh! There were kids everywhere, too much food, and tons of fun! I can't believe I didn't take any pictures!
Saturday was Matt's actual birthday. Sadly, I had great intentions of making it the greatest day of his life, and surprisingly, it wasn't! We had plans to have my mom come over and watch the offspring so the two of us could go golfing. That plan was nixed when our course had a tournament going on. Plan B was for us to play tennis instead. It was pouring rain that morning. Plan C was to take the kiddos bowling around lunch time, but before nap time. Plan C came to a crashing halt when London proceeded to the world's largest tantrum because "her jeans just didn't feel right..." Super. The tantrum lasted well over an hour, sadly I'm not exaggerating here, and nap time was approaching, so bowling was out. At least all 3 kids napped for almost 3 hours! We had some alone time and then headed to dinner with the family! We ate at the Hibachi House (yummy!) then came back to our place for treats and more fun! Somehow the guys ended up outside and decided to make it a real party by digging out a dead tree in the back yard. Can you say FUN?!? Yeah, I think it's lame too. Made for some fun pictures, at least!
Matt loved his gifts! The kids and I bought him a bunch of new shirts, new running shorts, and a new golf bag. Melissa and Wade and York and Jenny both got him cute golf shirts. His mom had his clubs regripped, and my mom got him a ball retreiver. Seeing a trend here? I just love this boy more than anything and hope he had an amazing birthday!!!

London's First Piano Recital!

London had her first piano recital this week! She was a little nervous, but did such a great job! She and Miss Amy played a duet called "The Big Brass Band." She had the song memorized and we are so proud of her! Thanks to our families who came to see her on her big day!

Crazy, crazy London!

Family Pics

A friend told me about a photography fundraiser she was helping out with and we thought we'd give it a try! We wanted family pictures of our little family and of my brother's family, so we did them together. The pictures turned out okay, just a little less candid than I like. Plus, it was a miserable day for the kids to have pictures taken! It was freezing, windy, and we had 7 kids ages 5 and under to contend with. All in all, not too bad!
