Heritage Days!

We LOVE Heritage Days! Actually we love any "holiday" that includes a parade! The city sponsors a cute bike parade for the kids, followed by a carnival of sorts. Best of all, it's all free! The kids love it! Then Saturday was the parade! The kids are stocked up on candy for the entire summer! We had the greatest time! Beck loved being there with his self proclaimed "best fwend Cawtner" (Carter)! Now we can't wait for the 4th of July!

Londy's Dance Recital!

She did it! Her first and probably last dance recital was last night, and she did so great! She is so, so afraid of performing in front of people, so this was the biggest deal for her! She was a little nervous during dress rehearsal, but was great for the actual performance! It was the cutest little dance; "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" from the Wizard of Oz. She couldn't stop smiling during and after the performance! Matt surprised her with a bouquet of flowers, and she LOVED them! We stopped for treats, ice cream per her request, on the way home. We had a perfect night!

More baby news...

I just had my OB check today and I'm scheduled 2 weeks from tomorrow to be induced! I'm luckily starting to dilate and efface, so things are progress on schedule! The greatest news is that baby finally turned herself around, so hopefully the C-section talk is out of the picture. She is measuring in at 6 lbs, 10 oz, which seems kind of largish for 36, almost 37 weeks, but I'm glad she's growing! 2 more weeks with this critter moving about in my belly, and we'll finally get to meet her! We can't wait!

A Bouquet for Mommy!

London age 4

Me, circa 1982, looking awfully cute with pants falling down and an incredibly terrible t-shirt on. (FYI: my mom swears that she dressed me cute as a kid. Maybe just not in this picture...)

Is there ANYTHING cuter than when your little one brings you a bouquet (of sorts) of "flowers" for the first time? London just made my day! I was at my mom's and came across a picture of my first weed bouquet for my mom. Kind of fun!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Today my Matt turns the big 3-2! I just wanted to wish him a happy birthday and let everyone know just how wonderful he is! Those who know me well know how much I adore this man. He's literally my perfect match. I am so, so lucky to have him as my husband, best friend, and father of our children. Just to give ya'll a glimpse into how great I think he is, here are just some of the things I love about him!
  • When I would work in the evenings while the kids were nursing, Matt would drive 30 minutes each way to bring them to me (neither kid would ever take a bottle making it difficult to juggle working some and still nursing); sometimes more than once in an evening, and was always happy to do it. He knew how important it was to me. I seriously don't know many husbands who would do that!
  • Something I think is just cute; if for some reason he goes to bed before me, he always leaves the bathroom or bedroom light on so I don't have to come to bed in the dark. I know it's so small, but I love that he always thinks of it!
  • He LOVES to play with the kids. He is definitely the fun parent of the two of us, and the kids adore him!
  • He works some crazy hours (some days then some nights) and even when he only is able to sleep a fraction of what he really needs to, he's up and ready to do whatever the kids and I have planned.
  • I've had a freakishly difficult pregnancy; both mentally and physically, and there were countless times that I know he really didn't understand what I was dealing with, but he never failed to just hold me for countless hours and talk me through "episodes" or just to make me laugh when I really needed it!
  • If I work in the evenings, I always come home to a great meal. It's so nice to not have to deal with that! Plus, I can call him if I'm out and about and forgot to take treats somewhere, or dinner to a neighbor, and know that he'll whip something up and deliver it for me. (all those years of foods in high school are finally paying off!)
  • He knows that I love him to be home so if he plans to go golfing, he always plans for a super early tee time so that he's able to play 9 holes before the kids wake up and miss him.
  • He loves me unconditionally.
  • When we sit down in the evenings to watch a show, he automatically puts a hand on my belly becuase he knows how much I love him to feel her moving.
  • He makes me laugh
  • He just shakes his head when I've told him what I just purchased for the kids is a "super great deal" even though not at all necessary...
  • He grocery shops with me, and acts interested when I call him about a great coupon experience and or when I insist on showing him all the "free stuff" I got that day.
  • He's kind, forgiving, loving, mellow, hilarious, patient, tries to be enthusiastic when opening gifts from me, a worthy priesthood holder, an amazing father, husband and friend.

I truly am so blessed to have someone like Matt for a spouse. Happy Birthday honey!

Why 8 year olds shouldn't do "makeovers..."

Tonight, London and Beck went to our cute little neighbors, and came home with makeovers! Beck is so proud of his "glitter!" Now, we're off to do some "hedicures" as Londy calls them! Should be a fun night; especially when Beckett throws a fit about me not painting his toenails!

Did anyone know that Jem and the Holograms were back, and asked London to join the band?

Yeah, Beck struggles big time with camera smiles. I swear he's the cutest little kid ever, but usually the least photogenic!

Mulgoon...

Matt's work day at Lagoon was Saturday. I've really got to limit my amusement park time being this largely pregnant. At least until we start our Cherry Hill ritual next week, that is! We had a great time. The only lame thing was that London couldn't go on any big rides because she wasn't tall enough. She just went to Disneyland and went on all but 2 or 3 rides there, and wanted so bad to go on the big roller coasters at Lagoon. No dice. At least there's a lot of kiddie rides! Beck wasn't a big fan of anything remotely scary. He went on Bulgy the (lame)Whale at least 6 times. This time, I didn't dare do the rides, and frankly couldn't have fit on any of the kiddie rides with my kids anyways. Matt is always a trooper and takes the kids on all the rides he can. We just had a fun time watching the kids have so much fun! Ever since we were on the car ride home, Londy keeps spelling L-A-G-O-O-N, "Mommy that spells Mulgoon!" Kind of cute!
My cute family!
