It's another....

Girl!!!
We had our 20 week ultrasound today, and low and behold, it's another little girl! We couldn't be more excited! I've suspected the whole time that it was a girl, mainly because this pregnancy is so close to London's. Now we're in the works on redoing Londy's room to accomodate two, and she's actually thrilled to be sharing a room with the baby. The greatest thing is that the kids (mostly London) have a list of names of which we can choose from. The "unique" names they've come up with are:
Wicked
Jackie
Nezzie
Wicked is definitely the kids' top choice. It's hilarious! Seriously, give the kid a fighting chance! We keep telling them the three names we're choosing between, and every time they just say, "but why can't we just call her Wicked? It's such a pretty name!" How do you argue with that?
Needless to say, we're super excited! The baby looks really healthy, just small. I usually measure small until the end, and then catch up. Both of my other kids were 7 lbs, 5 oz. I'm 20 weeks, 2 days right now, and the baby is measuring at 18 weeks, 2 days. Crazy. Hopefully she'll catch right up!

Weekend Getaway!

We spent our weekend in St. George/Vegas! Luckily, my mom, Dave, York, Jenny, and their cute girls wanted to head down the same weekend! We had such a great time with them! We traveled down Friday afternoon, and shopped and hung out on Friday night. Saturday morning, we headed to meet some friends in Vegas. We ate lunch at the In N Out with the Dean's and Butterfields, and headed to a local park to let the kids play. We stayed for an hour or two, and then headed to the Vegas Strip. I swear the strip was much smaller before we had kids! We had promised the kids that we'd see the tigers at the Mirage. Yeah, we missed them by like 5 minutes! At least the kids were pretty forgiving! We redeemed ourselves about a million hours later when we finally reached M&M World. We didn't do a heck of a lot there, but the kids loved it! They each picked out an M&M gumball-type dispenser and they love them! There's a whole lot of stuff we didn't have time to cover, so it looks like we'll be heading back soon!

Our Valentine's Day, Coins, and Tantrums!

The loves of my life!

We celebrated another Valentine's Day this weekend, and it was great! We have a fun (to me) tradition every year that includes staying home, making homemade, heart-shaped pizza, and watching the NBA All-star skills competition. Lame to some, I know. I look forward to it every year. I love putting the kids to bed early, taking it easy, and snuggling on the couch indefinitely! It was a great Valentine's Day. Most of the celebrating was with the kiddos! Growing up, my mom made a huge deal out of every holiday, and it's inspired me to do the same with my kids; only on a smaller scale! We decorated the kitchen with gifts at each childs' plate, made one of our favorite breakfasts, and spent the day as a family. It was a great day!

London had one of her best days ever! She had a friends fairy-themed birthday party in the morning, and then spent some time with her Grandma Jilly having Special Grandma/Londy time. We have a reward system for London where she earns coins for being polite, making good choices, helping out, etc. My mom told her when she earned 25 coins, they'd have a special outing together. It took over a month (lots of earning coins, but even more losing of coins) but London did it! She and my mom went to the dollar store where London picked up some real gems, and to the mall for a dipper cone at the Dairy Queen. Did I mention that London spent the entire day wearing giant fairy wings and a tiara?

Beck is such a sweet little guy, but the inevitable "terrible two's" is ever present! The phase this time around is so much easier, that it's not nearly so stressful. I was taking pictures of London and her "dollar store treasures" when Beck started a meltdown. He's so cute when he's ticked! I love it!

Too smart for her own good!

I have to find the humor in London so I don't go crazy most days. Most of the time, she's flat out just too smart for her own good! Alot of the time, this translates into her and I butting heads like crazy, but some days, she's just funny!
We were at the Walmart, and London looks up from the cart and says, "Mommy, you know I saw on the TV the other day a brand new shampoo! It says that you wash your hair in the morning, and guess what? You have super soft hair ALL DAY LONG! Can you believe it, mom? Could we go get some of that?
On the way into the store, London was limping. I asked her what was wrong, and she said her toe hurt in her clogs. I said, "well, we'll for sure put you in a cart so that you're toe doesn't hurt any more." She looked up and said, "well, it's the kind of hurt toe that only hurts outside. As soon as we get inside, and I can walk around the store, it'll be okay."
During dinner that night, London got off her chair, again limping, and said, "Mom, I think I should be done with my dinner, because chicken and rice and salt (yes she considers it a food group) make my toe hurt worse." Really...
And lastly, I should preface with the fact that we're once again trying a coin reward system with London. This stems from her preschool teacher saying that she's alienating all her friends at school with her bossiness. The coin reward system has worked like a charm this time. She gets a coin when we catch her being polite, or kind, or doing something nice for her brother, etc. Well this morning, she came up with a better reward system. She said, "you know how I earn those red and white and blue coins, mom? Well, I was thinking that when I earn those, well you should probably give me a Mom and Dad dollar, too. You know just so I have lots of dollars. Don't you think that's a great idea?" Um, no.

I've got a thing for musicians!

I'll be honest. I don't care much about the Superbowl. I watched bits and pieces, and then the last couple of minutes. I'm okay with this. What I do love, is the half-time show. Seriously, who better to perform than The Boss himself??? I'm the hugest Springsteen fan! I've seen him 3 times in concert, and Born to Run is in my top five albums of all time. It was one great half-time!
As long as I'm on the subject of beautiful musicians, I'd just like to give a nod to two others. Don't judge me, but I truly believe, and have for quite some time that Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler are two of the yummiest musicians out there. Yes, I know that there may be better looking frontmen out there, but there is definitely something appealing, and they sure win for longevity!
